Without any music in the game, save for boss battles and certain areas, you will have to put a soundtrack to the game while you play, but hey, a fun little indie-gem with a wonderful balance of run and gun fun!. This game..Decent story, hard levels.If you're looking for a challenge, then buy this. The levels are confusing, the levels are hard.. Think this games good?Think again.. I'm giving this a negative reccomendation, but also suggesting if you really want this... get it while it is really cheap on sale.To be completely honest... the game is competent at best of being a sidescrolling shooter.It is short, about an hour, has a variety of weapons that differ just enough to warrant them, and the shooting itself isn't too bad. The most glaring issues are the overpowered stunlocks that can screw you over on higher difficulties, the sheer volume of enemies that are thrown at you at times (stacked on top of the stunlocking), and especially a couple bosses that basically are all about stunlocking you (see a pattern here?). After a bit, you will bunnyhop as often as possible to avoid this problem (or at least, try to, it can still get you.. Bad Bots is a retro inspired, side scrolling shoot-em-up, with a fun premise and some entertaining moments. Unfortunately, it's also a one trick pony that starts to out stay it's welcome long before the final credits roll. If you really want a trip down nostalgia lane there is fun to be had here but you'd be better spending you cash on something like Shovel Knight if you want something a bit more quality.. All in all this is a neat little game. It's price is next to nothing and you get your money's worth: 4-5 hours of sidescolling shooting action. The weapons are varied, the difficulty is completely fine (let alone for two-three rooms of swarms of enemies, but nothing that you cannot do on the fourth-fifth try), the soundtrack is pretty ok, and there's even a twist in the story.Recommended for this price!. While not the worst 2D retro pixel platformer, this is a 2D retro pixel platformer.You do get a few deeper gimmicks than most, a pistol, an axe, so you can fight, and a number of puzzles with elevators and so on. Ammo and health are also concerns. Some effort went into the storyline, with a mildly comic-book styled into and an actual plot.This game loses many points by being retro (sigh, it's 2016, stop being lazy, hire an artist). Also, no graphics scaling or anything, so you get a face full of jaggies, or as the developer would probably call it, "art". At least it's widescreen, but doesn't take advantage of the features of a HD display, let alone UHD. At the same time it's not a console port because you have an atrocious mouse/keyboard interface which would have been poorly suited to an arcade machine in the 1980's, let alone a PC in the year 2016. Too many negatives to save what might have been a great game design if implemented properly and with decent artwork.. Not only does this game feel unpolished, but it also feels incompleted. Bad Bots feels like the developers who created this game didn't even finish the game as a whole. I want to like this game so badly, based on it feeling like a old school game but this game just screams incomplete. The action isnt nearly as fun either.
